No final da costa recortada conhecida como “Reentrâncias Maranhenses”, já no Estado do Pará, próxima ao Canal do Espadarte, entrada do Rio Pará, a pequena vila de Vista Alegre, no rio Cajutuba, pode ser um bom refúgio numa região de navegação difícil. Lá fica a base da Praticagem, com um trapiche que pode ser alcançado em qualquer maré. As variações de maré na região chegam a 5,5m e como referência pode ser usada a tábua de marés do Fundeadouro de Salinópolis, no Pará.

At the end of the jagged coast know as "Reentrâncias Maranhenses", but already on Pará state, near Espadarte channel, entrance of Pará river, the small village of Vista Alegre, at Cajutuba river, can be a good shelter in a difficult region. There is the ships pilots base, with a pier that can be reached at any tide. The tide ranges can reach 5.5m and the table for Salinópolis can be used as a reference.
